In light of the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, the Board of Trustees has elected to designate half of the proceeds from Huntington Hospital's Journey to Africa Gala on December 6, honoring Chris Mitchell & MARSHS, to benefit the North Shore-LIJ Hurricane Sandy Employee Relief Fund. This Fund will help assist our affected staff with financial needs, food, housing, transportation, time off, crisis counseling and government loan applications.
Already, we are aware of more than 234 North Shore-LIJ families - some of whom work at Huntington Hospital - who have been displaced from their homes as a result of this historical storm. Yet, these are the same employees who dutifully continue to report to work at Huntington Hospital each and every day, despite their personal turmoil, to care for hundreds of residents who depend on us to provide uninterrupted, top-notch quality health care.
Huntington Hospital is keeping its promise to support the purchase of a 3D Tomosynthesis Mammography System for the Women's Health Center...the machine has just been ordered!
