At the Katz Institute for Women's Health (KIWH), we understand that the needs of women are unique. That is why we are dedicated to improving the health and wellness of women across their lifespan. We know that there are conditions that affect women only, conditions that are more common in women than men and conditions where the risk factors and presentation in women are different from men. For just these reasons, the Katz Institute was established to coordinate, integrate and promote the continuum of women’s health, through education, wellness and prevention strategies, screening and early detection, treatment, and support services. The Katz Institute is a valuable resource for women and their families and serves as an entryway to coordinated, multi-disciplinary care provided by a network of highly-trained physicians and staff offering the latest diagnostic and treatment options in state-of-the-art facilities.

Every Woman Matters Walk Video
More than 5,000 attendees turned out for the third annual Every Woman Matters Walk: A Walk for Women and their families at Jones Beach State Park. The event, hosted by the Commerce & Industry Council of the North Shore-LIJ Health System, brought together family, friends and the whole community to celebrate women's health and wellness, and support an incredible initiative that promises to transform women's healthcare throughout the region: North Shore-LIJ's Katz Institute for Women's Health and Katz Women's Hospitals. Since the inception of the 5k walk in 2010, close to $1.5 million has been raised to support the Katz Women's Hospitals.
Commerce & Industry Council
In 1990, a group of dedicated business professionals and community leaders came together with a common purpose: to support the state-of-the-art healthcare programs and services provided by North Shore University Hospital (NSUH), including the hospital's Emergency Department. Now, the Commerce & Industry Council has united to support a $10 million capital campaign for the new Katz Institute for Women's Health and Katz Women's Hospital.
