Staten Island University Hospital

Staten Island University Hospital (SIUH), located in New York City’s fastest-growing borough, is a recognized leader in innovative, technology-based medicine. SIUH features the renowned Heart Institute of Staten Island, rivaling the best cardiac care centers in the nation. The hospital has tripled the size of the emergency room with renovations to the Elizabeth A. Connelly Emergency and Trauma Center.

Other vital north site locales include the prestigious Nalitt Institute for Cancer and Blood-Related Diseases, New York State’s first freestanding ambulatory cancer care facility, and the Regina M. McGinn, MD Education Center, which promotes a culture dedicated to excellence, innovation, teamwork, and continuous learning.

Currently under renovation are the Florina Rusi-Marke Comprehensive Breast Center and the Children’s Cancer Center at SIUH.

Florina’s Angels Fly to the Heart of the Matter

The Florina Rusi-Marke Foundation goes beyond bounds of philanthropy. The Foundation established its roots in 2002, after the passing of the beloved Florina Rusi-Marke. The Foundation’s initial mission was to celebrate Florina’s life, an optimistic young mom, full of energy. Family and friends have gathered together for the past 11 years, not only to honor the life of Florina, but to “bring hope across the world.”  Read More


The 2013 Golf & Tennis Classic Drives Home $90K

Players kept their spirits on par to benefit the Children’s Cancer Center. The area’s premier charitable Classic once again rallied more than 200 enthusiastic golfers and tennis players – attracting our business partners, physicians, employees and the community leaders. The event, held September 23 at the Richmond County Country Club, honored Kids Against Cancer (KAC) for their passionate support.  Read More


Night to Remember

The 131st Charity Ball Illuminated Strength in Shades of Pink. Staten Island University Hospital acquired dazzling donations from their elegant black tie affair. The grand total of gifts reached more than $1 million for the new Comprehensive Breast Center. The Charity Ball has been a spring tradition for SIUH. The Hospital’s first Charity Ball was organized by early Auxilians to keep a fledging infirmary financially afloat. This year’s ball honors our Auxilians as they celebrate their 150th anniversary.   Read More
