Alexa - a Cohen Children's success story
Imagine being diagnosed with kidney disease. Now imagine it was discovered before you were born and your doctors were not at all optimistic about your recovery.
As soon as Alexa was born, her parents rushed her to Cohen Children's Medical Center (CCMC), North Shore-LIJ's children's hospital, where the Pediatric Urology team flew into action to repair her tiny kidneys. Because of the quick action and expertise of the surgeons at CCMC, Alexa's kidney function was normalized by month's end.
18 years later, Alexa is attending Stanford University and has achieved national ranking as a scholar athlete in fencing and academics.
Your support of the Children's Hospital directly impacts the help we provide to children just like Alexa. During this season of giving thanks, there's no better feeling than helping children.
